The Inaugural Onyx & Amethyst Ball

A Celebration of Timeless Excellence

Designed to kick-off Black History Month and serve as a signature fundraising event, The Inaugural Onyx & Amethyst Ball: A Celebration of Timeless Excellence powered by the Clerisy Circle was held at the Millennium Maxwell House in Nashville, TN on Saturday, February 3, 2018. It was a bustling night unifying over 100 young professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders who positively impact the Nashville Community. The Harlem Renaissance vibe was captivated by live music by The Marcus J Band, an open bar, light hors-d'oeuvres, plus an exciting casino night experience.

Special guest, Vice Mayor David Briley attended to bring greetings from the City in celebration for this joyous unifying effort. To further empower our community, Mrs. Andre Jeffries, Owner of Prince's Hot Chicken, received the Inaugural Onyx Award. This award was bestowed upon a visionary leader, business, or organization that has left an indelible mark on the Nashville community. LaDonna Boyd, CEO of R.H. Boyd Publishing Corporation, received the Inaugural Amethyst Award. This award was bestowed upon a young professional, business or organization that is a rising start in their field or industry.

Due to the overwhelming success and support of the event, Clerisy CIrcle presented to The Hub for Urban Entrepreneurship a check in the amount of $1,000 earmarked for the Inaugural Pitch Competition Winner during the 2018 Black Entrepreneurship Week in November. By creating and powering this competition, Clerisy Circle is excited to invest in our next generation of entrepreneurs because we believe that an investment in our community is an investment in ourselves and our future.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all of our Sponsors, Host Committee Members, Community Partners, and Guests who helped to make the night a huge success!
